Born in Kilimanjaro, Aggrey participated in exhibitions in Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam while still at school. When he finished secondary school he studied at the college of business, but he knew he was meant to be an artist.
In 1989 he was the winner in the World Food Day drawing competition organized by FAO. He has exhibited his works throughout Tanzania and internationally, including Artpurha, Finland (2001).
His paintings have been sold in many different countries including Finland, England, South Africa, Norway and America. Aggrey is the only painter selected from Tanzania to participate in 2nd Pan African Cultural Festival that took place at the International fair of Algiers (Algeria) in July 2009.
Aggrey was the curator of Wasanii Art Centre, Dar es Salaam (2004 – June2010), and he has been working with Makutano House (The centre for Tanzanian Art), Dar es Salaam, 2011-2012.
